Character Analysis (part of the PromptSuiteAI ecosystem, including the "CharGen Bridge" extension) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our web application and browser extension.

1. Overview

We provide productivity tools for visual forensics and prompt engineering. This policy covers:

The Web App (characteranalysis.io): Analysis of uploaded images and generation of prompts.
The Extension (CharGen Bridge): Transfer of prompts and images between our app and third-party AI platforms (Google Gemini, xAI Grok).

2. Data Collection and Usage

We only collect the data necessary to provide our services.

A. Account Data

We use Google Firebase for authentication. We store your User ID (UID) and email address to manage your subscription status and saved library.

B. User Content (Images & Prompts)

Uploads: When you upload an image for analysis, it is processed on our secure Google Cloud servers. We generate forensic metadata (JSON manifests) from this image.
Storage: Images you explicitly save to your "Gallery" are stored in our secure database linked to your account.
Extension Data: The extension only transmits data when you interact with it (clicking "Zap" or "Save"). It does not passively track your browsing history.

C. Payment Data

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers. Stripe provides us with a secure token to verify your subscription status.

            The Simple Promise: We do NOT sell your data, we do NOT train public AI models on your
            personal uploaded images, and we do NOT read your personal email or messages.
        

3. Third-Party Sharing

We share data only with the critical infrastructure providers required to run the service:

Google Cloud / Firebase: Hosting, database, and authentication.
Stripe: Payment processing.
Google Gemini / xAI: If you use the "Zap" feature, prompts are sent to these platforms at your direct command.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (AES-256 for storage, TLS for transit). Access to your data is restricted to the specific user ID authenticated via Firebase.

5. Chrome Extension Specifics

For users of the "CharGen Bridge" extension:

We comply with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.
We request only the minimum permissions needed to inject text into the active tab (`activeTab`, `scripting`) and communicate with our backend (`host_permissions`).
